Is this “Afghanistan doesn’t need a surge” school of thought driven by the cost imperative? (It’s cheaper to offload security responsibilities onto the host nation.)

Real ID Interoperability Problems?

CNet

That not-very-welcoming rule is part of a 2005 law called the Real ID Act, which takes effect in just over three months. It says that driver’s licenses from states that have not agreed to Real ID mandates from the Department of Homeland Security, or which have not requested a deadline extension, can no longer be used to access “federal facilities.”

What happens when “Real ID zones” emerge?

USG OSINT Platform

Here is a great status report from the DNI Open Source Center’s Director Doug Naquin who is working hard to stand up the government’s OSINT hub. This could be big if platform logic is applied to leverage a widely dispersed highly analytical team. Unlock it (at least incorporate local governments and turn every city into a “fusion center”) and it will yield more rewards.

Lots of work needs to be done on this.  Looks like a good start though.
