Poll On Iran

Rasmussen

Fifty-seven percent (57%) of American adults say it is at least somewhat likely that the United States will be at war with Iran before another year goes by

A Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey of 1,000 adults found that 23% believe that War with Iran is Very Likely. Another 34% say it is Somewhat Likely. Thirty-two percent (32%) disagree and say War with Iran is Not Very Likely (26%) or Not at All Likely (6%).

Fifty-five percent (55%) of Republicans believe war is likely along with 59% of Democrats. Younger Americans are more likely to believe that war is coming than their elders.

Joint Support Group

Telegraph

Its members – servicemen and women of all ranks recruited from all three of the Armed Forces – are trained to turn hardened terrorists into coalition spies using methods developed on the mean streets of Ulster during the Troubles, when the Army managed to infiltrate the IRA at almost every level.

The JSG recruits men and women of any rank from all three services up to the age of 42. Volunteers attend a two week pre-selection course where those not in possession of the unique set of skills required to handle agents successfully are weeded out.

The thing with units like this is that there really does not need to be a military prereq. It is basically a micro version of what we now call the National Clandestine Service.

Security Theater Part Three

CNN

“Last week’s events caused a major disruption in the greater Boston area on many levels — crippling public transportation, causing serious traffic problems, negatively affecting local businesses, and perhaps most significantly, costing Boston and surrounding communities thousands of dollars,” Attorney General Martha Coakley said in a written statement.

All of which were caused by the excesses of the authorities, not the advertising itself. These are demonstrative of the the kinds of costs we are likely to see add up as a result of inefficient spending and a lack of real perspective on security.

Security Theater Part Two

It gets better – apparently in the race to find and prevent guerrilla marketing Boston PD also netted two unrelated fake pipe bombs

“There were two conventional pipe bombs that were found at the same time that this started to unfold,” said Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis.

The guy was found but not charged –

In the hospital incident, investigators believe a former hospital employee planted the phony bomb in an office at 185 Harrison Ave. He has been identified but has not been charged, the sources said.

Boston Police bomb squad cops detonated the pipe bomb, which was a very realistic-looking fake, the sources said.
