Updated: Bobbitt At Columbia
I know Bobbitt was at Columbia for the spring semester as a visiting professor. Looks like Philip Bobbitt may have permanently left UT for Columbia as of the first of this month.
Just got word from his assistant:
Professor Bobbitt is full-time at Columbia where he will be a professor of law and director of the Center for National Security but he retains an affiliation with the University of Texas as Senior Fellow at the Robert Strauss Center for Law and International Security where he will spend some months each year

"Invisible Hurricane"
NYT –
Oil refineries across the country have been plagued by a record number of fires, power failures, leaks, spills and breakdowns this year, causing dozens of them to shut down temporarily or trim production. The disruptions are helping to drive gasoline prices to highs not seen since last summer’s records.
A third of the country’s 150 refineries have reported disruptions to their operations since the beginning of the year, a record according to analysts.
American refiners are running roughly 5 percent below their normal levels at this time of the year.
Systemic flaws coming to light (again). The solution, of course, revolves around gaining back the spare capacity by simplifying the system which means applying the right tech in the right places.

Review: Deathly Hallows
