Quick update: my posting will continue to be to a minimum while I focus 100% on a seriously cool project. Details when it makes sense.

Mathew Lippincott

Has a great new blog. He’s got a lot of very interesting stuff to say.

This post in particular details his own experience working with local agriculture. Very much in line with my own thinking (rapidly deployable, flexible, cooperatives).

Networked Farms + OurHarvest

Cool article in Wired on the future of farming. I spent some time a couple months ago thinking about disintermediating the farming system.

Been caught up working on some other stuff that is really exciting, so the company I wanted to build in this space (OurHarvest) is now dead. Doing the legwork was fun, and I got to meet and speak with some very cool people – James Oehler for one, Mathew Lippincott for another (both brilliant pioneers in this realm). The model is cool because it is intrinsically local and can be replicated very cheaply all over the country.

Anyway, here is the three-minute pitch.   If you’re not already building something like this in your community… you should be. Feel free to get in touch if you want to talk about it.
