Time for a New Governance Platform

When the core rule set you cut into your governance platform is causing the system to fold into itself, to the extent where you cannot affect change upon that rule set, it’s time to build out a new one.

Data points:

  • Supreme Court accelerates the buyout of the political ‘process’ (Campaign Finance).
  • Court says government can govern itself (EFF vs ATT) in a highly isolated system.

Jeff Rubin Speaks

When I was an energy security professional (one of only 20 or so in the world) I was asked to come up with a list prospective speakers to invite to a roundtable discussion.

Roubini, Kunstler, Tainter,  Robb, Vail, Homer-Dixon were all on the list. Needless to say, there aren’t enough DC insiders on that list to make the discussion a complete waste of time, so my list was summarily thrown out, as, eventually, was I ;).

Jeff Rubin was on the list as well. Very smart guy, formerly of CIBC, who did a hell of a job narrating the kickoff of D2 (global contraction/ reversing globalization).
