RFID Credit Cards

Not the best idea

Kevin Fu, a computer science professor at the university, and colleagues said that in 20 tests of cards issued by Visa, MasterCard and American Express data including the cardholder’s name was being transmitted in plain text with no encryption.

The researchers said they were able to read the cards using a device built from $150 worth of common computer and radio components. They said the cards could be read through clothing and wallets, calling the security of the devices into question.
