Review: Plunder

is a documentary about… well, the plundering of the public by mortgage brokers and Wall Street. It’s a pretty decent primer about mortgage backed securities for those looking to figure out what’s going on. It fails went it comes to Bear Sterns though, painting it as a victim of short selling and a rushed sale. Also, the role of DC.
Most interesting is that it covers the mortgage fraud pretty well at the tactical level (fraudulent signatures, etc). Also, does a good job explaining why it’s bizarre to blame a deficiency in personal responsibility at the home buyer level but not acknowledge the gross negligence in Washington and the economic predators in NYC.
It’s not for those familiar with the problem though.
