On The NeuroSky Mindset
This is a very cool piece of $99 technology. It’s an electrode that sits on your forehead and detects thoughts/emotions. They’re trying to figure out how to scale this business. (Investment as of June was ~$20 million.)
Their internal ideas, of course, are falling short – (movies where you control the ending? cute toys?). Games are the obvious play, but, luckily, they’ve unleashed a free SDK that lets you use everything from C++ to Arduino to create your own applications. I CANNOT wait to see what the hacker community creates out of this.
One thing that would be cool off the bat is a a UAV (or swarm of drones) that is able to instinctively shoot or conduct an evasive maneuver when you see an enemy on the video feed.
